The Story of a Star

Here at futsal-X, we are more than excited for what 2017 has to bring!

Today, we want to share with you all a short story written by Julio García Mera, a close friend of one of the founders of futsal-X and an ex-professional futsal player with just about every club and national team accolade you could think of.

“The Story of a Star”

by Julio García Mera

The end line fell in love with the left post, but the left post liked curves. So the line went to the plastic surgeon and there, at the consultation, the line encountered a rubber ball that wanted to be a leather ball, a goal net that sought to become a computer network, and a football player that hoped to be a star. The line was satisfied. It was no longer a simple line. Its hips drew a voluptuous wave, which forced it to move to the center of the field. The distance ended their relationship. And it was unhappy. The ball changed its sex. Now it was a real regulation sized ball. He felt imposing with his masculine seams. But he could no longer play with the children of the house. And he was unhappy.

The net took advantage of the information age to leave its archaic post in the goal. It never got used to being a computer network. It missed the goals. And it was unhappy. As for the player – they changed his face and his physique. They turned him into a walking advertisement. The cameras chased him. He amassed fame, money, and titles. When he won his first World Cup, he couldn’t believe it. When he won his second, he believed it too much. Everyone looked at him, but he could not see himself anymore. He was so far from what he used to be. He was somewhere that was not his own. And he was unhappy.
